The CORE Academy is a training center based in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. We offer American Red Cross certifications, professional and workplace training, and organizational consulting for individuals, teams, and organizations across Northeast Pennsylvania. CORE stands for Creating Opportunities for Reflection & Education.
We are based in Wilkes-Barre and serve the broader Northeast Pennsylvania region, including the Wyoming Valley, Scranton, and surrounding communities. For organizational engagements, we also deliver training on-site at your location.
Both individuals, teams and organizations. Individuals come to us for certifications and professional development. Organizations, including schools, nonprofits, healthcare-related teams, service providers can come to us for workplace training and consulting.
We do not run cohort programs that staff have to apply to and graduate from, and we do not hand you a generic curriculum. We build training around what a person or team actually needs. For organizations, much of our work begins with an assessment of what is really going on before we recommend anything.
Certifications
American Red Cross CPR and AED, First Aid, combined First Aid and CPR, and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications. We also provide Mental Health First Training.
Yes. The CORE Academy is an American Red Cross Licensed Training Provider (LTP), and the certifications issued are American Red Cross credentials, valid for 2 years.

Yes. We deliver group certifications at your location or in our Wilkes-Barre training space, often as part of a broader workplace training engagement.

Workplace and Organizational Training
No. We work extensively with organizations on workplace training and consulting, including leadership development, employee training, HR and culture work, behavioral management, and DSM-5 educational workshops.
Yes. Most of our organizational work is customized. We scope training around your team's specific operating reality rather than delivering a stock workshop.
We tailor our services to meet your needs. Most engagements can follow several steps, including but not limited to: Discovery (we assess what is happening, often with a SWOT analysis), a strategic plan (we recommend what to do and how to sequence it), and engagement (we deliver the training and development). No. The CORE Academy provides training and education. We do not provide clinical services, patient care, diagnosis, therapy, or HIPAA-regulated workflows. Our behavioral management and DSM-5 offerings are professional staff education, not clinical practice.
