Connections Before Correction: Building Trust That Makes Feedback Effective

About Course

Effective feedback is about more than identifying what needs to change. It’s about creating an environment where individuals feel respected, heard, and supported throughout the process of growth and improvement.

Connections Before Correction: Building Trust That Makes Feedback Effective explores how leaders, supervisors, and professionals can approach difficult conversations with empathy, curiosity, and clarity while maintaining accountability and professional expectations.

Grounded in trauma-informed principles and practical workplace communication strategies, this training introduces a five-step coaching framework: Connect, Understand, Acknowledge, Correct, and Support. Participants will explore how trust influences the way feedback is received, recognize common communication barriers, and learn strategies for addressing performance concerns without creating unnecessary defensiveness.

Through realistic workplace scenarios, guided reflection, and practical exercises, participants will develop skills to navigate challenging conversations, strengthen professional relationships, and provide constructive feedback that encourages meaningful improvement.

This training emphasizes a fundamental leadership principle: Connection does not replace accountability; it creates a stronger foundation for it.
