These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of The CORE Academy website at https://coreacademytraining.com and your registration for and participation in The CORE Academy training and certification classes. By using our website or registering for a class, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site or register.
2. About The CORE Academy
The CORE Academy is a training center based in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and an American Red Cross Licensed Training Provider (LTP). We offer American Red Cross certifications, professional and workplace training, and organizational consulting.
3. Use of the Website
You agree to use the website only for lawful purposes. You may not attempt to disrupt the site, access areas you are not authorized to access, or use the site to infringe the rights of others.
4. Account Registration
Some features, including class registration, require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
5. Registration, Payment, and Refunds
Class registration and payment are processed through our website. Prices are listed at the time of registration. Refunds, rescheduling, and cancellations are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
6. Training and Certification
The CORE Academy delivers training in a blended format consisting of online coursework and an in-person skills session. A digital American Red Cross certificate is issued only upon successful completion of both the online theory portion and the in-person skills competency test. Certifications are valid for the period stated by the certifying body (currently two years from the completion date for the certifications we offer).
The CORE Academy does not guarantee employment, licensure, or that any specific employer, school, or program will accept a certification. It is your responsibility to confirm that a certification meets your specific requirement before registering.
7. Medical and Emergency Response Disclaimer
The CORE Academy training, including CPR, AED, First Aid, and BLS, is educational and is intended to prepare participants to respond in emergency situations. It is not medical advice and does not replace professional medical care. The CORE Academy and its instructors are not liable for outcomes arising from the use or attempted use of skills taught in our classes. In an emergency, always call 911 or your local emergency number.
Our behavioral management and DSM-5 educational workshops are professional staff education only. They are not clinical training, diagnosis, therapy, or patient-care credentialing.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on The CORE Academy website, including text, graphics, logos, and training materials developed by The CORE Academy, is the property of The CORE Academy or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. American Red Cross course materials and marks are the property of the American Red Cross and are used under The CORE Academy’s Licensed Training Provider authorization. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The CORE Academy is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the website, your participation in training, or your reliance on any certification.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The CORE Academy, its instructors, and its staff from claims arising out of your use of the website or your violation of these Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
